Love is...leaving a post-it!

Isn't it amazing the way that siblings can fight like cats & dogs and then turn and do something incredibly sweet and loving for one another?

For the past two school years The Girly and Stitch seemed to argue just about evey morning while getting ready for school. One always claimed that the other was being annoying. But when Stitch realized that he would be getting ready for school alone this year, because The Girly was starting high school and morning seminary, he was not happy. He told all of us that he was worried it was going to be lonely and wierd without her in the morning.

So The Girly began doing something very thoughtful, to make Stitch feel better about the situation. Every school day morning since school began, she has left him a post-it note stuck to the bathroom door. Little words of encouragement and love. Stitch is saving every one and tucking them in his journal. He looks so forward to them every morning.

It makes my heart feel good to see their love for each other...expressed through the giving and cherishing of little post-it notes.

  1. I am proud of both my nephews and my niece for while they may know how to royally annoy the other, they do have those moments where they treat each other well. They would do just about anything to support and protect one another and that is a rarity. I think you and Brian have done a great job raising those kids and I consider myself blessed to have such an amazing family that I LOVE spending time with, especially those kids.

  2. That is so awesome. You guys have done a great job. Katelyn is really the only one I know and what a true blessing she is for anyone to have in their life. I feel that while her and Jade may be complete opposites when it comes to sports and interests like that, they are also very much the same. Just two very sweet girls.
Katelyn you rock and "stitch" is gonna have such fond memories of you as you get older. Keep up the good work, Kathy and Brian. Although Kathy now I might be a bit angry with me because now I think I am going to be hooked on "blogging"

    I love you guys.

  3. that is sooo coool! I love it when my college boy take the time to spend with the 10 year old. Just the other week for the little one birthday, big brother picked him up from school took him to the mall for a treat then took him to play lazer tag...they where the only two in the building playing. That is a birthday memory that will NEVER be lost. Also, this same big brother is spending every afternoon with the little one knowing his mission papers will be arriving any day now. Kids can be soooo awesome and it makes parenting them soooo worth it! - Melissa D
